President's Message

April 2025
Dear members,

On March 27 we held our General Membership Meeting, where the budget and business plan for next year were approved, along with an amendment to our Articles of Association. We needed two-thirds of Regular members to vote, and through your participation and our General Manager’s persistence, we were able to approve all matters, including a continuation of the levy. At the GMM, we welcomed for the first time in recent history all Professional Journalist Associate and Associate members, and the input from all made for a more informative and compelling evening.

GAZA: Signal Of Life

For the month of April, the FCCJ is proud to present a telling exhibition to support Palestinian filmmaker and photographer Amer Nasser who is currently living a difficult and perilous life in the midst of a serious humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza. As a producer selected to exhibit his work at the Cannes Film Festival and Dubai International Film Festival, Nasser would suffer the loss of his camera and computer in one of the many bombings, the artist’s foremost means of expression. Without backup equipment, he was forced to turn to his only remaining means of recording history - a smartphone - to continue sending out daily videos and photos on social media.
